HUNDREDS of runners enjoyed the morning sunshine as the GPW Recruitment St Helens 10K returned in fine style.

Amid an uplifting atmosphere, runners snaked around the undulating course - taking on the challenging hills of North Road and Victoria Park.

The event started and finished at Saints' Totally Wicked Stadium.

Young Coronation Street Jude Riordan was joined by Mayor of St Helens, Cllr Sue Murphy to start proceedings.

The overall run was won again by athlete Matt Crehan.

Here is an initial selection of pictures by Bernard Platt.

Further reports, results and a full gallery of pictures will follow.
