WITH Valentine's Day upon us, it is a chance to celebrate the ones we love and show off our romantic side.

Eccleston Arms

Popular bar and grill The Eccleston Arms are offering a special Valentines Day menu to delight romantics in St Helens.

Three courses cost £40 which includes Smoked Ham Croquettes, Chinese Spiced Duck, Braised Beef and Chocolate Surprise.

There are also rooms available for those wanting to spend the night at the Prescot Road building.

Ariete Italian Bar and Restaurant

Italian restaurant Ariete is offering a new two-course set menu this Valentines Day.

In addition to their usual a la carte menu, the set menu costs £24.95 per person.

This includes Sweet potato, garlic, and roasted red pepper soup, mixed seafood and fresh spaghetti meals.

Ariete is located on High Street, in Newton-le-Willows.

The Wood Pit Cafe and Bistro

Wood Pit are offering a special Valentine's menu at their Church Road restaurant tonight.

Three courses and a glass of prosecco will cost £55 per couple, with the option to upgrade to a bottle of prosecco or wine for an extra ten pounds.

Their menu includes a King Prawns and Calamari starter, a roast marinated lamb leg and black pudding main and a sharing platter for dessert.

The Wicket Bar & Grub

Live entertainment will be on show for romantics who dine at the Wicket tonight.

Local musician Olivia Parr will be singing for guests who can enjoy selections from the restaurant's three-course meal for two and a bottle of house wine.

The set menu costs £55 per couple, which includes all of the Ruskin Sports Village bar's traditional favourites.

Bottle & Glass Inn 

A set menu is also on offer from the team at Bottle & Glass in Rainford.

The Valentines menu costs £21.99 and includes sharing platters, hand-battered cod and chips, chicken, leek and mushroom pie, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

If having a quiet one is more your thing, people in St Helens encouraged couples to shop at independent businesses for hand-crafted cakes, take a walk through Taylor Park or cook a special home-cooked meal.
