ST HELENS’ young Coronation Street star Jude Riordan says it feels like “winning all over again” as he got his hands on his Inside Soap Best Newcomer award.

Jude, who plays the role of Sam Blakeman, son of Nick Tilsley, in the ITV soap, was announced as the winner of the Best Newcomer gong at the Inside Soap Awards last November.

Jude's character has been at the forefront of some big storylines since he arrived on the Cobbles in 2020, including a dramatic kidnap plot and dealing with the heart-breaking death of his mum.

The 10-year-old received other recognition in 2021, when he was crowned Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards in September.

Jude, who is also known for portraying Tyler Croft in Sky One’s Brassic, also won the Arts award at last November’s Pride of St Helens awards.

The St John Vianney pupil took to Instagram after he received his trophy for the Inside Soap awards.

In a post, he said: “Look what landed at work. My @insidesoapmagazine Best Newcomer Award!

“Like winning all over again!

“Welcome to the firm, take a seat next to the others,” he joked.
