PILKINGTON Lilies under 9s celebrated trophy success in Manchester after a series of tremendous performances.

They were entered into a 'Level Football Tournaments' – and it was organised by the u9s coach Greg Clare who is a volunteer and the parent of one of the players.

The tournament was made up of two groups of four teams, competing in a round robin setting with the other clubs being Bridge Girls, Ashton On Mersey Hawks, Ramsbottom Untied Blues, Ashton On Mersey Ravens, Winsford Diamonds, Glenavon Belles and Prestwich.

The Lilies played three games and came out on top of their group before going into the knockout stages.

The side went won their quarter-final, semi-final and ultimately came out as overall winners of the tournament, winning the final 2-1.

Over the six games they scored 15 goals, conceding just three with most of the team finding the net.

Lilies are part of the girl's section of Pilkington Football Club, established in September 2020 Ages ranges from 5-11 with training taking place at Ruskin Drive.

Training is Monday and Saturdays. Monday times vary depending on the age range and Saturdays are all ages.

The u9s are in a Warrington League and play most Sundays currently.
