ST HELENS darter Eleanor Cairns was runner up in the JDC Super 16 final in Milton Keynes on Sunday.
She lost the final 5-0 to Warrington's Luke Littler.
The 17-year-old thrower won her way through the early rounds in 2021, as the JDC split the event into regional events for boys and girls.
Warrington's Littler, 15, was the runner-up two years ago when he lost to Keane Barry in the Super 16 final, but this time took the title.
Cairns is set to compete in the PDC's Women's Series and Development Tour events.
The presentation was made by the JDC's Darren Barson and ITV Sport darts presenter Jacqui Oatley.
The 2022/23 JDC Super 16 will see 16 Academy students and 16 qualifiers compete in the early rounds on December 3, ahead of the final being played during the 2023 Masters.
