A TEENAGER found guilty of murdering a man in Winsford this week was the most high-profile of several cases in our courts this week.

Man trashed grandmother’s home and attacked his dad during ‘psychotic episode’
A NORTHWICH man who trashed his grandmother's home and went on a rampage during a psychotic episode has been spared an immediate spell behind bars.
David Wade, of Britannia Road in Cuddington, was told by a judge that he was only partly to blame for his 'disgraceful behaviour' on the early evening of November 1 last year.
The 31-year-old father-of-two had stopped taking medication and been drinking, before an argument broke out over a bottle of vodka at his grandmother's home on Beech Road in Runcorn.
Man fleeced company out of £40k to spend the cash on drugs and prostitution
A NORTHWICH man has been jailed after selling £40,000 worth of paint stolen from his employer – and splashing out on drink, drugs and prostitutes.
George Smith, of Violet Grove, admitted stealing stock from Bromborough Paints in Manchester before selling it on for cash.
The 33-year-old covered his deceit by adjusting computer stock records, but his 16-month long spree of thieving was eventually spotted by a finance director carrying out an audit.
PureGym Northwich stabbing: Update on attempted murder trial
THE stabbing victim attacked outside PureGym in Northwich has been told he can provide pre-recorded evidence at the trial of the man accused of his attempted murder.
The 20-year-old suffered horrific injuries, when he was allegedly set upon by Samson Price, outside the Leicester Street gym on September 23 last year.
Price, a 47-year-old of Sefton Road in Wigan, was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
WINSFORD
Teen 'thug' found guilty of murdering Keagan Crimes
A TEENAGE thug has been convicted of murdering a Winsford man with a Rambo-style knife, in a brutal incident that shocked the town.
The 17-year-old from Crewe, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had admitted stabbing Keagan Crimes through the chest on October 11, 2020, but denied it was murder.
However, after more than eleven hours of deliberation, the jury didn't believe his claims of self-defence as they returned a unanimous guilty verdict. The teen, who shook his head in the dock as the verdict was read out, was also found guilty of stabbing Jason McQuoid, with the intention of causing him grievous bodily harm.

Man jailed after funding lavish lifestyle by running huge drug dealing hub
A MAN who funded his lavish lifestyle by running a huge drug dealing operation in Winsford has been jailed for more than six years.
Shane Preece, 43, 'brought misery' to residents thanks to his illegal enterprise and was sentenced to six years and nine months at Chester Crown Court yesterday, Thursday, January 20.
Meanwhile, his wife, Carla Preece, 32, pleaded guilty to money laundering offences and was handed a 20-day rehabilitation order.
Jamie Green, 28, was handed an 18-month suspended sentence for possession with intent to supply class B and possession of criminal property.

Drink-driver banned for being two and a half times over legal limit
A DRIVER who was two and a half times over the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road.
Richard Illingworth-Harrison, 34, of Sandileigh Avenue, Knutsford, pleaded guilty at Stockport Magistrates Court to having 86 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The defendant admitted being over the limit on November 14 last year, when the case was heard on January 10.
Driver fined £500 for doing almost twice speed limit through roadworks on M6
A PORSCHE driver has been fined £500 for doing almost twice the speed limit through roadworks on the M6.
Mark Cripps, 46, of Moss Lane, Alderley Edge, pleaded guilty at Birmingham Magistrates Court to exceeding the speed limit on August 7, last year.
The defendant was caught on camera driving a Porsche at 78mph in a zone which had a temporary speed restriction of 40mph, the court heard on January 13.
Train ticket dodger hit with £400 court bill for £14 fare
A WOMAN who failed to pay her train fare has been hit with a £400 court bill.
Julie Finney, 47, of Oakfield Close, Alderley Edge, failed to produce a ticket at Huddersfield station when asked by an inspector on August 26 last year, Manchester Magistrates Court has heard.
The defendant boarded a TransPennine Express at Stalybridge railway station without a valid ticket to travel, the bench was told when the case was heard on January 7.
