SAINTS take on Leigh tonight for Alex Walmsley’s testimonial.
With Chalon Way multi-storey car park now demolished, here’s a list of car parks in the town which supporters can use for match day parking on weekday matches (kick-off 7.45pm).
Weekday matches
The following council-run surface car parks and all pay & display locations will be free to use from 5.45pm for matchday parking:
- Birchley Street
- Central Street
- Cotham Street
- Mill Street
- North John Street
- Parr Street
- Tolver Street
- Ward Street
- Waterloo Street
Hardshaw Centre roof top surface car park will be available for use but the council stresses access will be via The Needle staircase onto Hall Street only after the shopping centre closes at 5.30pm, making this an unsuitable car park for customers with mobility problems.
Millennium Centre car park is for the use of patients attending the Millennium Centre only.
Tontine multi-story car park will not be available as access via the shopping centre closes at 6pm and the car park is locked promptly at 6.30pm until 8am the following morning.
Saturday matches
Charges will apply as normal for Saturday parking, on all the above car parks:
- 50p - up to 2 hours
- £1 - over 2 hours
Sunday matches
All council-run car parks and pay & display locations are free to use on Sundays.
Hardshaw Centre roof top car park will be accessible via the shopping centre lifts only while the shopping centre is open; after that access is via The Needle staircase onto Hall Street only.
Tontine multi story car park will be accessible via the shopping centre lifts only while the shopping centre is open – the car park is locked 30 minutes after the shopping centre closes until 8am the following morning.
The council adds: “Current opening hours for the shopping centres are 10am to 4pm but please check signage for any changes to these times on the day of your visit.”
