ST HELENS motorists will have six road closures to avoid on the National Highways network this week.
And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start this week:
• M6, from 9pm January 17 to 6am January 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 21a to junction 26 - Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
• M62, from 9pm January 19 to 6am January 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 6 - seven lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage works.
• M62, from 9pm January 23 to 6am January 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 9 - seven lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage works.
• M6, from 9pm January 24 to 6am January 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 21a to junction 26 - Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
• M62, from 9pm January 24 to 5am January 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 8 to 7 lane closure and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.
• M62, from 9pm January 28 to 5am January 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 7 to 8 lane closures due to drainage works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
