PLANS to use a property as a residential institution for the care of up to three young people have been approved.

Proposals were drawn up and sent to the council in November 2021 regarding a house in Market Street Earlestown, on behalf of the applicant Truly Timeless Care Ltd.

In the plans, a statement said: "We consider that the proposed use would be fundamentally the same in day to day terms.

"Clearly, there may be some small scale and additional comings and goings dependent on the outdoor activities of the children and occasional professional visits.

"As such, and taking all the material planning considerations into account, we consider that the proposals are consistent with current National and Local Planning Policy and that the use is a sustainable form of development".

The applicant also made reference to an appeal decision in which a decision to refuse plans for a residential children's home in Knowsley Road, Eccleston were overturned in 2021.

They said this proposal is "almost identical" to that.

Plans were approved by the council.

In recommending the plans get the go-ahead, case officer Jennifer Bolton wrote in a report: "The proposal would still be providing a form of residential accommodation within a sustainable residential location.

"Whilst the use maybe more intense than that of a residential house, the proposal has on balanced considered to be an appropriate use in this location".
