A MAN has been charged in connection with a slash attack which happened on New Year's Eve.
It was reported a man in his 20s had been assaulted in Albion Street.
Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a slash wound to his neck.

The assault happened near to Peter Street Library at around 8.15pm on Friday, December 31, 2021.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a slash wound to his neck, in a serious condition and has since been discharged from hospital.
Following inquiries, officers arrested a 32-year-old man from St Helens in connection with the incident on Monday.
Peter Shelley, of Grafton Street, West Park, has now been charged with grievous bodily harm (Section 18 assault) and possession of a bladed article.
Shelley, 32, was remanded in custody and will appear in court on Wednesday, January 12.
