BRITISH pop legends Madness have confirmed a gig at Haydock Park Racecourse next summer.

Having last headlined in 2015, the iconic band, who will perform on Saturday, July 16, join a stellar line-up confirmed for summer 2022, featuring the previously announced Paloma Faith and Olly Murs headlining July 1 and August 5 respectively.

Combining the genres of ska, reggae, Motown, and classic 60s pop, Madness are one the most-loved and cherished of all British bands.

Fronted by the charismatic Suggs, their ability to write songs that sparkle with the stuff of British life, that find poetry in everyday reality, has led them to have many hits, including Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love, Driving In My Car, Our House and the 1982 number one House of Fun. They are songs that have left their mark on British pop culture and their spirit endures in the music of Blur, The Streets, Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys and many more.

Dickon White, Jockey Club Racecourses’ North West Regional Director said: “We are so excited about our fantastic line-up of music nights in 2022. With the addition of Madness to the season, we have something for everyone for what is set to be a wonderful summer of music and racing at Haydock Park.”

Madness said: "We had an amazing time at Haydock Park in 2015 and can’t wait to return 7 years later. Our fans in the North West always know how to have a great time and we can’t wait to join them for an amazing night next summer. See you all there!”

2021 saw a season of incredible live shows at The Jockey Club racecourses, ranging from a sold-out show for Tom Jones at Haydock Park to an afternoon of joyful singalongs with McFly at Newmarket Racecourses. Despite the challenges of staging a season in 2021, the events marked the return to live music for thousands of fans. The Jockey Club Live events continue to be renowned for combining an electric evening at the races with a spectacular evening concert in an informal and relaxed open-air setting.

Looking forward to a full-strength line-up in 2022, the likes of Nile Rodgers, The Script, Olly Murs and Pete Tong & The Heritage Orchestra are already confirmed with more announcements to come.
