A DATING show filmed and produced in Rainhill will be broadcast later this month - after local singletons signed up to find love in the village.

'Love on the Rocks' is described as a unique dating show which focuses on interesting and outgoing local people who "want to find love in an unusual way".

The three-part series has been created by local producer, Sam Evans, his production company Start8 Productions, and the admins of the Facebook group Rainhill Rocks.

While finding love in the current climate is not easy, the show aims to celebrate the area of Rainhill and show off the weird and wonderful characters that make up the community.

The show follows the format of traditional dating series, yet adds a unique twist by documenting the 'off-screen' moments and aftermath of the dates - something described as "vital" to the structure of the show to give complete transparency to the viewer.

Filmed in one of Rainhill's most popular eateries during October and November, those looking for love took part in two "mini dates" which lasted just ten minutes each.

Additionally, contestants also played different dating games which found them a partner for a romantic meal - with the couples' compatibility judged by the panel of Rainhill Rocks admins.

Heavily associated with Rainhill "Rockers" terminology, the couple will be interviewed after the date and decide to 'Rock-a-bye-baby' and call it quits, or 'Rock On' and see their partner again.
