A SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy who entered an area of St Helens town centre while banned from doing so has been given an electronic tag for six months.
The teenager, from Haydock, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, appeared at Merseyside Youth Court.
He pleaded guilty to, on October 29 entering St Helens town centre while prohibited by a criminal behaviour order (CBO) which was issued on August 24 this year.
He had been given the original CBO for offences including three assaults and theft, for which he was re-sentenced and his referral to a youth offender panel was revoked.
A youth rehabilitation order was made and the boy must participate in reparation activities for 20 days.
He was also given a curfew with electronic monitoring for six months.
After the original CBO had been issued, Merseyside Police said: "On August 24 a Criminal Behaviour Order was granted for a male in response to longstanding anti-social and violent behaviour within the town centre and neighbouring areas within St Helens.
"We have worked alongside partners to ensure a criminal behaviour order was put in place.
"The conditions that the CBO imposed, ensures the safety of the community, showing that this behaviour will not be tolerated within St Helens."
