TWO Amazon employees who stole more than £3,000 of goods have been ordered to carry out unpaid work.

Marioara Iordache and Mirabela Vasile took the Apple products from the online retail giant’s Omega distribution centre in Burtonwood over an eight-day period in November last year.

Forty-two-year-old Iordache, of Hume Street in Fairfield, pinched an iPhone and four sets of Airpods while 24-year-old Vasile, of Garner Street in Orford, Warrington stole one iPhone and two pairs of Airpods.

Both defendants were told to complete 150 hours of community service each at Warrington Magistrates Court on Wednesday, November 17, having admitted theft by employee during an earlier hearing.

Iordache was ordered to pay compensation of £1,835, while Vasile will be required to pay £1,517.
