JOHNNY Vegas helped bring Christmas to the Griffin pub in Eccleston as the lights were switched on during an event dedicated to supporting Willowbrook Hospice.

The festive event on Sunday got people in the Christmassy mood, with reindeers in attendance and Santa making an appearance at the pub.

The venue's outdoor space, which was transformed during lockdown to house wooden shelters, had stalls and served food and drink to create a Christmas market feel.

There was live music, including from ex Stillia frontman Jack Bennett, before the Christmas lights were turned on by Johnny.

After the day, the Griffin pub stated: "Thank you to everyone who joined us and made yesterday so special.

"We were blessed with good weather, surrounded by family and friends and amazing customers.

"I can’t do a post like this without mentioning our team though, boy did they deliver. We don’t yet have a final figure but on behalf of @willowbrookhospice I’d like to say ‘thank you’ to you all."
