TODAY'S dip into the Saints photographic archives steps a bit further back - to the Championship-winning team of 1953.
This Saints team, skippered by Duggie Greenall, won the Championship Final by beating Halifax 24-14 in front of 51,083 crowd at a packed Maine Road, Manchester.
That triumph made amends for the surprise Wembley defeat earlier that month when they lost to a Peter Ramsden-inspired Huddersfield.
With Saints greats such as Glyn Moses, Stan McCormick, Steve Llewellyn, Todder Dickinson, Alan Prescott and George Parsons in the ranks they enjoyed a fantastic year,
This group even managed to beat the touring Australians 26-8 earlier on in the season.
The team and directors are pictured with two magnificent trophies - the old Championship and another that they managed to win eight times between 1930 and 1969.
Can you name that second cup?
