Voll scoring against Hunslet in the Championship Final
TODAY'S flick back into the Saints archives we see Tom van Vollenhoven scoring one of his hat-trick of tries in the 1959 Championship Final.
Former Springbok Voll, then aged 24 and in his prime, scored what many older fans say is the best try ever scored.
He had the crowd in raptures with his majestic running and length of the field effort - with 50,562 packed into Odsal to see Saints account for Hunslet 44-22 to be crowned champions.
