WITH spooky season finally upon us, The Vault bar are getting into the Halloween spirit with a series of events on offer this week.

Kicking off with a Halloween themed pub quiz on Wednesday, October 27, the underground music venue on Church Street follows this with a triple-whammy of music offerings from Thursday - Saturday.

Kitting out the bar with a host of ghoulish decorations, the Vault's "unofficial house band" Polker continue their bi-weekly jam night on Thursday, October 28, encouraging any budding artists to take on some Halloween-themed covers.

Friday follows this with another local band, Sapho, taking to the Vault’s stage for another raucous night of live music and spooky covers.

A frequent headliner of the Vault, the local three-piece are said to bring down a sizeable following so musos are encouraged to get down early to the intimate venue to save disappointment.

The Vault’s owners, Dave and Tom Harold, stated that Halloween covers and fancy dress are encouraged at any of these events, but none more so than Saturday night’s DJ event.

With a host of DJ’s confirmed to blast some Halloween dance songs as they move between the genres, Dave and Tom are hoping for a packed-out night to finish off the week.

With fond memories of the Bullion Bar at the Vault’s premises, Dave and Tom said they took the decision to open the venue in late 2018 to help create a live music scene in the town and get the building “back to its former glory”.

While managing the bar throughout the pandemic has been a “challenge”, things are now looking positive for the team with bands booked up for every weekend until the end of the year.

Using the lockdowns productively to revamp the business with a outdoor heated area and stage, the Vault’s live music schedule is hoped to not only attract bands from around the region but also local residents.

Dave said: “We want to help create a live music scene with our events, but this can only happen with other bars around us pulling together and create places that people want to go to.

“With more events on offer, this will create a great night out in St Helens and keep people in the town, rather than going to Liverpool or Manchester.”
