A MAN who harassed and verbally abused a woman while under the influence of alcohol has been given a restraining order.
Ross Anthony O'Mara, of Warwick Street, West Park was sentenced at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court earlier this month.
O'Mara had indicated a guilty plea to a charge of harassment causing fear of violence.
The 42-year-old attended his victim's address and was verbally abusive to her on multiple occasions while under the influence of alcohol between May 1 and September 4 this year.
He was given a community order and must have treatment for alcohol dependency for six months.
The defendant was also given an electronic curfew for 12 weeks and he must undertake rehabilitation activity for up to 35 days.
O'Mara was also given a six-month restraining order and must not contact his victim.
He must also pay compensation of £100, a surcharge to fund victim services of £95 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service, making a total of £280.
His guilty plea was taken into account as the sentence was imposed.
