FOR the women’s second team at Winnington Park Hockey Club, their first win of the season was worth the wait.

They plundered six goals to beat Golborne, who could only manage one in reply, to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking.

Sam Waite and Eleanor Senior both scored twice for Park, with Eileen Miller and Caitlin Wylie also on target.

The men’s seconds were also victorious at Lymm, with Tom Howard scoring both goals in a 2-1 win while Pete Haffenden was named man of the match.

The men’s thirds won by the same scoreline away at St Helens, with man of the match Matt Morley scoring the winner after Liam McKee’s opener had been cancelled out.

Sadly, both the men’s and women’s first teams were on the wrong end of results.

The women lost 4-2 at Neston despite goals from Lauren Miller and Shandy Moloney-Pugh while the men were beaten 3-0 at home by Triton.
