NORTHWICH RUFC were finally able to play on Moss Farm’s premier pitch on Saturday, but it did not bring about a change of fortune.
There remained much to take from their performance but it was not enough to make a real impression against neighbours Lymm, who ran out convincing 68-7 winners.
Blacks enjoyed their fair share of possession before the break but found it difficult to launch any serious attacks, with their lineout a particular source of frustration.
The same applied in the second half although they did post some points deep into stoppage time.
A good break from Sam Naylor presented Tom Husbands with the chance to weave his way through the visitors’ defence to score between the posts, allowing Nick Baldwin an easy conversion.
Lymm were able to have the final say with the last of their 10 tries, however, to make it six North Premier defeats from six.
Blacks travel to Kirkby Lonsdale, who have an identical record, for their next game on Saturday.
Northwich: Ben Ridgway, Mike Gough, Mark Thompson, Rory Williams, Josh Warburton, Aaron Collins, Tom Clark, Ellis Vickery; Tom Wood, Nick Baldwin; Kyle Clarke, James Weeks, Joel Barber, Hayden Skinkis, Tom Husbands. Subs: Chris Heywood, Sam Naylor, Tom Wilson
