A MUM-OF-ONE who changed her life thanks to a Slimming World programme has launched her own group to help others in the community.

Nicola Robinson, 34, held the first weekly session on Monday, October 11 Lester Drive Community Centre, Eccleston.

Nicola, who lives in Sutton, became a Slimming World consultant to "give something back" after she experienced its life-changing effects.

Most recently, she lost two stone and nine pounds ahead of being maid of honour for her best friend’s wedding.

"I have done Slimming World since 2015, when I went on holiday and didn't want to be that larger woman in a bikini," said Nicola.

"I lost almost three stones within four months, the weight just dropped off because Slimming World is that easy to follow.

"I lost my way with it but my best friend asked me to be her maid of honour and joined with her last August, and also with my mum."

Nicola added: "I wanted to give something back and share my experiences and how fantastic Slimming World is and how easy it is to lose weight.

"It is really simple and easy to follow, there are literally three steps to losing weight.

"There's so many people across the country who are overweight. People put on weight in the pandemic not being able to socialise and go to the gym.

"It is confidential, I never tell how much you weight, only the weigh in person and myself know. If somebody chooses to say, that is up to them.

"It involved food optimisation and exercise, which is also good for mental health."

Nicola's group will meet each Monday evening at 6pm at Lester Drive Community Centre.
