A TEENAGE girl was assaulted by a man on a bus.
Police received a report of a girl being "shoved in the back" by a man in his 60s on the 10A bus while it was near Whiston Hospital on Warrington Road.
It is believed this happened after the girl had accidentally bumped into the man on the bus.
The assault is alleged to have taken place at around 4.15pm on Tuesday, October 12.
Police are investigating the incident.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that enquiries are ongoing following an alleged assault of a girl on a bus on Tuesday, October 12.
"At around 6.40pm, we received a report of a girl having been shoved in the back by a man after she reportedly bumped into him accidentally.
"She was on the 10A bus by Whiston Hospital on Warrington Road."
He added: "The incident happened at around 4.15pm but was reported later. The victim was not injured but reported pain in her back.
"The suspect was described as a white man in his 60s but no further description was given.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact us via @MerPolCC with reference 862."
