A UNIQUE dating show will be filmed and produced in Rainhill later this month, with local singletons urged to take the plunge to find their soulmate.
Focusing on people who "want to find love in an unusual way", a local production company, Start8 Media Productions for SamEvansVisuals, have teamed up with the Rainhill Rocks Facebook page to matchmake via a recorded dating series.
Filming in October and November, "Love on the Rocks" are looking for interesting, outgoing local people to take part in the show, which will be streamed on Facebook and Youtube in December as a four-part series, followed by an after-party episode.
Explaining the concept, Jill Cooke, admin for Rainhill Rocks, said: "The show has a bit of everything. It will take elements from shows like First Dates and The Millionaire Matchmaker, but really putting our own spin on it.
"We have different dating games to start the show, where contestants will find their partner for their date and then go on to have a fancy, romantic meal.
"After the date, the couple will then have an interview where they decide to 'Rock-a-bye-baby' and call it quits or 'Rock On' and see their date again."
Heavily associated with Rainhill "Rockers" terminology, the show wants to celebrate the area and show off the weird and wonderful characters that make up the community.
Judged by a panel of Rainhill Rocks admins, Jill explained the show has been a "real team effort" to put together and show off the best of Rainhill.
She added: "We really are looking for single people looking for love, and will try to match each contestant to the right person."
With the application deadline closing next week, Jill encourages any single, outgoing personalities to apply for the show, with the possibility of finding their soulmate while also becoming a local celebrity in the process.
