SAINTS' Totally Wicked Stadium has come third in a survey of fans' satisfaction over rugby stadiums of either code across the world.

Experts at Liverugbytickets.co.uk have discovered the rugby stadiums around the world fans are most – and least – satisfied with, in the new study.

To do this, Liverugbytickets.co.uk created an index taking into consideration four factors: atmosphere, cleanliness, affordability, and food. The study involved content analysis of over 15,000 TripAdvisor reviews for 40 of the biggest rugby stadiums by capacity according to Wikipedia.

Stadiums were ranked in accordance with their average score out of ten across all four factors.

The rugby stadium fans are most satisfied with is Recreation Ground, situated in Aldershot, England, home of Bath Rugby Union club. The stadium scored 9.5 out of 10, with the highest score (9.7/10) for ‘cleanliness’ and ‘affordability’.

The stadium situated in second place is Welford Road, home of Leicester Tigers Rugby Union Club, with a score of nine out of 10. The stadium ranked the highest for ‘cleanliness’ (9.5/10) and ‘food’ (9.3/10).

In third place is Saints' Totally Wicked Stadium, with a score of 8.5 out of 10.

The 18,000-capacity stadium in Peasley Cross has been home of the Saints since 2012 and has hosted international rugby league including in the 2013 World Cup.

It has also recently been used as a regional mass vaccination centre in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

In fourth, was Parc y Scarlets, in Llanelli, Wales, with a score of eight out of 10.

Sandy Park is the stadium in fifth place, with a score of 7.9 out of 10. The stadium, located in Exeter, England, scored high points for ‘atmosphere’ and ‘affordability’ (8.2/10 each).

The top 15 best football stadiums also include: Twickenham Stoop, the home of Harlequins Rugby Union, in sixth, and AAMI Park, Melbourne, Australia, whose users include NRL champions Melbourne Storm and rugby union's Melbourne Rebels in ninth.

Meanwhile, Mt Smart Stadium, home of the NRL's New Zealand Warriors in Auckland, is 15th.

The rugby stadium fans are the least satisfied with is Estadio Ciudad de La Plata, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which scored only 0.3 points on average for the index. Estadio Ciudad de La Plata scored lowest for ‘atmosphere’, ‘cleanliness’ and ‘food’ (0.21 points each).

The second and third worst stadiums for fan satisfaction are Allianz Riviera in Nice, France, and Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy, scoring 0.6 points and one point respectively.

In fourth place is the National Stadium in Singapore, with 1.7 points out of 10, followed by Strade de France in Saint-Denis, France, with only 1.9 points, putting it in fifth place.
