POLICE have confirmed they were called to Taylor Park on Friday night to search for a woman following concerns for her safety.
A number of readers contacted the Star after seeing a large police presence in the park and off its Prescot Road entrance.
Police dogs were reportedly in the park while the force helicopter was above.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson has confirmed officers were searching for a woman who had discharged herself from hospital.
There were concerns for her safety and it was believed she was in the park.
The force spokesperson confirmed the woman later returned to hospital to resume her treatment.
