A HANDFUL of regeneration developments in St Helens have been shortlisted for a regional property awards.

Four projects in the borough head to the Liverpool City Region Insider Property Awards 2021 on Wednesday, September 1.

The event is a highlight in the calendar for the property and construction sector, recognising those who have delivered outstanding results and shining a light on the developers, developments and deals that are shaping the Liverpool City Region.

St Helens has a total of four shortlisted nominations, with three of those in the running for the Future Ambition Award.

This includes:

• Moss Nook - Harworth Group’s development of 900 homes bringing brownfield land back into use

• Glass Futures - a 158,000 sq ft Centre of Excellence in for research and development

• St Helens regeneration and borough-wide transformation

Meanwhile, the game-changing partnership and development agreement between the council and The English Cities Fund – a national strategic joint venture between leading urban regenerator Muse Developments, Legal & General and Homes England – hopes to secure the Property Deal of the Year Award.

Cllr Richard McCauley, the council’s cabinet member for regeneration and planning, said: “The shortlisting of several St Helens-based initiatives at the Insider Property Awards demonstrates the regional-level recognition of the ambition and innovation prevalent in our borough. We are laying the foundations for the wholesale redevelopment and transformation of the borough and our town centres at pace and scale.

“This is creating new economic opportunities and quality new homes, using brownfield land wherever possible and green technologies in support of our efforts to address the climate emergency and protect our wonderful environment.”
