NEWTON Town Show saw people turn out "in force" to enjoy the fun atmosphere as the event returned.
Following a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the show made its comeback at the weekend at Mesnes Park.
While the British summer weather was not always ideal, thousands turned out to make sure the day was a great success.
The activities included a fun fair; classic car show; market stalls; brass bands plus loads of other bits and pieces.

Cllr Seve Gomez-Aspron, Newton ward councillor and deputy council leader, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people out in Mesnes Park!
"The weather was a typical British summer, but the rain didn’t put if thousands of you visiting and supporting the town show over the course of the day."
He added: "I’d just like to thank all the volunteers who supported NECG to deliver the show, the volunteers from the different sections on the day and more importantly the public for turning out in force after an odd 18 months!
"See you all at our ten year anniversary show in 2022!”
