A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy was left needing stitches after being showered in glass after a yob hurled a brick at a house window.

A youth threw two bricks at a home on Elephant Lane, Thatto Heath shortly after 2.15pm on Wednesday afternoon (July 28).

Five-year-old Tariq was sat on a bed, near to the window watching the thunder and lightning, when one of the bricks shattered the glass.

Tariq was left with two injuries, needing four pieces of glass removed and requiring stitches.

She said: "The first brick hit the camera on the front the second brick came through the window showering my boy in glass.

"If he hadn't reacted so quickly and ducked the glass would have been in his face.

"He came running out the bedroom screaming with blood running down his arm and his back.

"He went to run into the back bedroom for safety and then the youth bricked that window too."

Naomi added: "He has sustained two injuries and has four pieces of glass removed. The injury has had to have stitches due to it being so deep.

"He is now scared in his own home and won't go near windows or anywhere in the house without one of us being with him.

"My happy little boy is now scared, every noise like a car door being shut outside, he thinks it's the youth coming back again.

"Last night he didn't want to return to his home and went and stayed with his dad at family members."

Naomi is hoping the vandal can be brought to justice.

"Someone knows who this guy is.

"Within four minutes of its happening gangs of kids were arriving and filming the house and taking photos. The police have moved them on.

"We need a name so we can get justice for my little boy and make him feel safe again.

"It's going to be a long healing process for him. At five years old it's hard to process.

"The physical injuries may heal, the mental injuries may never fully heal."
