FOUR men - including one from St Helens - have been arrested in connection with alleged drugs offences following a vehicle stop check.

An Audi Q2 was stopped near the A566 in Plumley, near Northwich, at around 2.20pm on Thursday, June 17, by the Cheshire Police's Roads and Crime Unit.

A large quantity of what is believed to be crack cocaine was discovered in the car and all four occupants were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

The men, aged 21, 27, 45 and 51, are all being held in police custody where they are being questioned by officers.

The driver of the car, a 45-year-old man from St Helens, was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

The other three suspects include a 51-year-old man from Everton and two men aged 27 and 21, of no fixed address.
