A DRIVER fled from the scene after crashing with another vehicle.

Officers from the Matrix Roads Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses following the collision in Newton-le-Willows on Sunday, June 13.

At around 10.40pm, police were called to High Street following a report of the crash between a grey BMW and a light blue Audi.

Police say the driver of the Audi left the scene without stopping or providing any details.

Enquiries are ongoing to find the driver and vehicle.

The BMW was damaged but no-one was injured, police added.

Matrix Roads Policing Inspector Stuart McIver said: “To leave the scene of any accident is a serious matter, and we’re keen to trace the driver to assist our enquiries, and speak to any witnesses to this collision.

“If you were passing the location and saw or captured the incident or the vehicle involved, send any information, CCTV or dashcam footage to us and we will take action.”
