A SINISTER weapon made up of a blade and a long pole was seized when police carried out searches at two houses in St Helens town centre.
Officers targeted the separate addresses on Thursday morning.
One man was arrested on suspicion of drug offences after Class A drugs were found, police said in a statement.
Police also highlighted the "dangerous weapon", releasing a picture of the bladed pole in a bedroom.
A knife appeared to be attached to the pole via tape to create a spear-style weapon.
Merseyside Police has not yet released details of the streets where the raids took place or further details of the man arrested.
They did heap praise on local residents in the town centre for support during the morning's operation.
