PROPOSALS to create eight homes on land near to a primary school have been drawn up.

Plans to create eight two-storey semi-detached houses on Cannon Street, Clock Face have been sent to the council.

Applicant Mark Cooper, of Cannon Street Developments, submitted the proposals to St Helens Council.

The proposals seek permission for eight three-bedroom homes on the site, near to St Teresa's Primary School.

A design and access statement, drawn up by planning agents Snow architects, says: "It is understood from previous approval that the principle of a residential use development in this location is acceptable and the approval for a two-block development complex represents the maximum scale and massing of development appropriate for this site".

It concludes: "The proposals have been informed by the setting and context of the site" and adds "no residential amenity issues have been previously raised from the proposed design and previous approval".

The plans are on public consultation until Friday, June 25 and a determination deadline is set for July 28.
