A MAN has been charged in connection with a stabbing in Whiston in which a victim was left with neck wounds.
The Star reported last week how a huge police presence was called to flats off Delph Lane, Whiston, on Tuesday.
The victim, aged in his 30s, had suffered stab wounds to his wrist and neck following an attack shortly before 5pm.
Police say the victim remains in hospital in a "stable condition".
Officers say that following “extensive enquiries” a man was arrested in the Kirkby on Saturday, June 5.
Edward Doughty, 46, of Stuart House, Whiston has now been charged with Section 18 wounding; dangerous driving; and criminal damage, all arising from the same incident.
Doughty has been remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court tomorrow, Monday, June 7.
