FROM Rainford Rangers to the Euros...
St Helens will have a local hero to cheer on at this summer's European Championships after Conor Coady made England's final squad.
The defender - a former Bleak Hill Primary School and Rainford High School pupil - avoided being one of the seven players cut from Gareth Southgate's party as the squad was trimmed from 33 to 26.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers skipper, who grew up in Haydock, will now aim to secure a place in the starting team for the Three Lions' opening group game against Croatia at Wembley on June 13.
Before then, Coady has the opportunity to impress in two pre-tournament warm-up games.
England face Austria tomorrow and Romania on Sunday, with both games at Middlesborough FC's Riverside Stadium.
