A SCHOOLBOY from St Helens is among those nominated for the best newcomer category in the 2021 National Television Awards.
Rising star Jude Riordan has delighted audiences since he landed a coveted TV role in ITV's Coronation Street as Sam Blakeman.
His character Sam, the long lost son of Nick Tilsley, has recently been at the forefront of a dramatic kidnap plot.
Now Jude's mum Kellie has revealed he is among six nominees on the long list for the Best Newcomer at the NTAs.
She took to social media to urge people to vote.
She said that if he secures enough votes he could make the shortlist - when the voting process would start again.
Jude, a 2019 Pride of St Helens awards nominee, has already collected one honour – with Star reporting last year how the then nine-year-old had been crowned as best newcomer in the Digital Spy awards.
But the NTA awards – featuring some of the highest profile names in UK television – would mean he had reached another level.
Jude, from Lea Green, first hit TV screens in 2017 after starring in The Secret Life of Five Year Olds on Channel 4.
Since then the now the St John Vianney pupil has gone on to appear in CBBC programmes and several adverts.
In 2018 he landed the coveted role as Tyler in Sky One’s Brassic alongside former Corrie star Michelle Keegan and Vince Gilligan.
