A HOMEOWNER was struck on the head by burglars who had broke into a house during the early hours.

Police are investigating a report of a burglary at an address on Renfrew Avenue, Laffak.

On Saturday, May 15 at around 2.50am, it was reported that "two males wearing dark clothing" had gained entry to the property.

The victim was reported to have confronted them and was struck on the head, said police.

The burglars made off from the scene in the direction of Sankey Valley and were reported to have taken a silver Imac Pro and a black and silver giant electric bike.

Police say the occupant was not injured.

CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing to find those responsible.

Sergeant Jeff Pickett said: “We would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Renfrew Avenue in the early hours of Saturday morning or saw anyone or anything suspicious to contact us as they may have information which is vital to our investigation.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area who may have mobile phone or dash cam footage to contact us as they may be able to assist with our enquiries.”
