POLICE are investigating after thieves stole equipment from a building site at a well-known Cumbrian landmark.
Burglars are reported to have struck at a building site in the Kirkoswald Castle area near Penrith.
The theft is thought to have occurred at some point this weekend, between Friday, May 14 and Monday, May 17.
A spokesman for Cumbria Constabulary said: "It was reported that a storage container, containing masonry tools and a generator, was stolen.
Anyone with information, or who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 55 of 17 May.
Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers, and remain completely anonymous, on 0800 555 111."
