A MAN has been arrested following on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and affray.

The 26-year-old was taken into custody by officers following an altercation with two other men in the Nelson Bridge area of Carlisle on May 10. He has since been released under investigation.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: "It was reported that three males were involved in an altercation and it is believed that one of the males made threats to the others with a knife.

"No injuries were reported."
