HOSPITALITY venues and customers across St Helens tried to brave the Bank Holiday Monday washout.
Some drinkers turned out to defy the wet and windy conditions for some outdoor drinking while under cover.
However, the inclement weather meant many pubs and venues had to close their doors early on Monday, despite best efforts.
