A NINE hour virtual music festival is set to take place with acts from across St Helens and Merseyside to bring joy this Bank Holiday weekend.

Beyond Boogie is the brainchild of events manager Izzy O'Dea, who lives in St Helens and wanted to put on an event to cheer up people after months of lockdown.

After getting in touch with Miguel Doforo, she secured The Citadel as the venue and over the course of five days filmed artists from St Helens and beyond performing sets that will be available for people to watch all day from noon on Saturday, May 1.

Acts involved are Jack Bennett, Kiera Weathers, Chicken Man and the Bad Eggs, Just Jess, Mondo, 3RIC MCK3NNA, Cained, Halle DJ, James Riley, John Riley, Josh Kane, Earl Raff, Matty Scott, Simm2, Rhythm Inc, Rain Castillo, Synergy and Rob McPartland.

Izzy, 19 said: "I just wanted to do something to cheer people up after the lockdowns and the Bank Holiday made sense as a date.

"The performances will be available to view via my Youtube page IZODeventsLTD and by my social media channels of the same name from noon until 9pm.

"I'm hoping people tune in, have a dance from home or in the garden and enjoy themselves.

"It was great fun putting it together and I'm really proud of what we managed to put together, I hope everyone enjoys it."
