Cyclist in serious condition in hospital after being hit by bus
A CYCLIST in his 20s is in a serious condition after being hit by a bus.
Emergency services were called to near the junction of Bridge Street and Haydock Street in Newton-le-Willows shortly after 11.30am.
A man was taken to hospital after being hit by a bus.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We had reports of a collision between a bus and a male.
"We were called to the junction of Bridge Street and Haydock Street at 11.40am.
"The man has been taken to hospital."
A North West Ambulance spokesman added: "An ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended after reports of a road traffic collision between a bus and a cyclist.
"A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital in a serious condition."
