A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl has been airlifted to hospital with a serious injury after being hit by a car in Darlington this morning.
It happened on Beechwood Avenue, shortly after 8.50am (April 19).
It is believed the vehicle, a Citroen C4 Picasso, collided with two other vehicles along the road before hitting the pedestrian.
The girl was airlifted to James Cook Hospital with a serious leg injury, while the driver and passengers were not injured.

A 37-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving, she remains in custody.
Officers are now keen to speak to anyone in the area at the time of the collison or with CCTV/Dashcam footage.
