SAINTS boss Kristian Woolf has given his reaction to the Challenge Cup win over holders Leeds.

He also gave an update on injured pair Sione Mata'utia and Matty Lees who went off in the opening 10 minutes.

Saints had to withstand a late Leeds figfhtback to finally win 26-18 to go into the last eight.

Woolf said: "I wouldn’t put it down as our best performance, but we found a way to win and that is what you need to do.

"There were a couple of times there where we thought we had it won, and we hadn’t.

"We took our foot off a little and that is how I felt when we conceded those two tries in the second half.

"If you look how we responded after the second try, the way we defended then and kicked and chased, it was like we knew the game was back on and that is what we should have been doing 15 minutes prior to that.

"That is my gut feel at the minute, but I will chat to the blokes."

He gave an update on Mata'utia who went off with a head knock, and Lees.

"Sione has recovered fine. He did not come back on because of the way he felt, not because he did not pass the test.

"He was recovered fine after the game but will obviously have to go through some protocols to see where is at," he said.

"With Matty Lees – I am not sure.

"He rolled over his ankle in the first carry of the game and tried to push through it, but you could see that he was not moving like he was going to be able to get through it.

"That is something we have to see how it pulls up tomorrow and get scanned and see where it is at.

"But from both points of view, hopefully they are not long because we need them out there.

"Not having Morgan Knowles out there leaves us a bit short."
