THE M6 is currently closed heading northbound after a crash involving two lorries this afternoon, Friday.
The incident occurred at around 1pm between junctions 25 for Bryn and 26 for Orrell.
Stationary traffic is reported and congestion is heading as far back northbound as junction 23 for Haydock.

The southbound carriageway was also blocked to assist due to one of the lorries carrying a hazardous substance.
It has since reopened, however traffic is still heavy.
The crash happened in the roadworks area.
