A PERSONAL trainer has taken on the challenge of doing 2,000 burpees throughout April to help a charity close to her heart.

Danielle Haddock from Windlehurst is a PT based at Ruskin Fitness Centre, and after realising her fitness was not at its usual levels due to lockdown, she decided to take on a personal challenge with a difference.

The 26-year-old said: “We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, and with me deciding to take on a challenge, I decided to do it for a charity that specifically helps people struggling with cancer, Maggies.

“Everyone who knows me knows burpees are my nemesis, so it’s something I struggle with that’s why I decided it was perfect to take on a challenge involving them to help Maggies.

“It’s been a huge challenge so far, I’m 400 in to the 2,000 challenge and it’s been really tough, it just goes to show though that people fighting cancer and having treatment go through something so much more tough than this, and that keeps me pushing forward to do this for them.”

Danielle has currently raised £150, and is looking to raise more for the charity. To donate, and to see her daily live videos showing her carrying out the challenge, go to facebook.com/DanielleHaddock.Fitness/
