A WOMAN is in hospital in a serious condition after falling from a bridge at the East Lancs Road.
Police and the air ambulance were called out at around 1.25pm today, Tuesday, April 6 to reports of a woman in her 30s falling from the Lady Pilkington Bridge off Abbey Road, Windlehurst.
She has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Road closures remain in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

There is currently heavy traffic between City Road (Moss Bank turn-off) and A570 Rainford Road (Windle Traffic Lights) and traffic between the M6 and Liverpool is affected.
