WITH the long Easter Bank Holiday weekend to look forward to, there’s always that little bit of confusion in households about when recycling and waste collections will take place.
St Helens Council has explained when collections will be so there is no need for residents to anxiously wait to see which bins their neighbours are putting out.
Collection crews won’t be working on Good Friday, April 2, but will carry out those collections on Saturday, April 3 to catch up.
Crews will not be working on Easter Monday, April 5. Those collections will roll over to Tuesday, April 6, with the service operating one day behind up to and including Saturday, April 10.
Collections will then resume as normal from Monday, April 12.
Anyone unsure can check their collection dates by entering their postcode online at sthelens.gov.uk/collections.
People are asked to please have their recycling and waste out for collection from 6.30am.

Residents are advised that due to the expected increase in recycling tonnage some recycling collections may be done via a normal rear-loading bin wagon, with comingled recyclables sent on for sorting and recycling.
In this event food waste will be collected separately.
The council has also asked people to ensure they avoid double-parking on streets to enable collection vehicles to travel to every house.
St Helens Council said: "Please also be mindful of parking in your street.
"With so many of us at home, please be considerate and avoid double-parking to ensure that collection vehicles, as well as emergency services, can reach every house unobstructed."
