A MAN who was arrested in St Helens town centre after police were alerted to a car smelling of cannabis has been released under investigation.
Officers were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Church Street in St Helens town centre reportedly smelling of cannabis at around 11.15am yesterday, Tuesday, March 9.

A 30-year-old man from St Helens was detained on suspicion of drug driving; possession of cannabis and driving without a licence or insurance.
He was taken to a police station for questioning.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said he has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
