POLICE have released an 18-year-old suspect under investigation after they discovered a cannabis farm in a town centre property.
One-hundred cannabis plants were seized last Wednesday afternoon (March 3) at 2.30pm when officers swooped at a property on Shaw Street.
This followed allegations that the occupants were involved in drug crime, police said.
After noticing a strong smell of cannabis, police forced entry inside where they discovered a large cannabis farm spanning across two bedrooms and consisting of around 100 plants.

An 18-year-old man was found hiding in the upstairs bathroom, police said.
He was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and extracting electricity.
He was taken to custody for questioning.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said the suspect has been released under investigation.
Here are some of the signs that cannabis is being grown:
- Strange smells and sounds
- Frequent and varied visitors to a property, often at unusual times
- Gardening equipment being taken into a property, such as plant pots, fertiliser, fans and industrial lighting
- Windows are sealed and covered or the curtains are permanently closed
- Heat from an adjoining property
- Birds gathering on a roof in cold weather
- Individually these activities may seem commonplace, however, together may indicate something more suspicious
